Tiverton Elements

After performing as series of light interventions, we developed a stair & balcony railing system which was born out of a process of modeling and experimenting with sheet material. It is always interesting to start with a formal idea, and see what material offers as a solution to achieve the form you're imagining. In this case, from sketches, to simple wooden models, to chipboard... we were led to the possibility of using sheet steel. A series of studies and mockups to understand the potentials of the system were followed, and eventually, the steel walks it's way along the edges.
