Teton Valley Retreat

HB was hired to spend time generating conceptual ideas for a small retreat in a vast expanse of ranch and grassland in the Teton Valley. The client was in the process of bringing much of the land back to it's original state, reintroducing original plant species, and encouraging sustainable grazing and farming methods for portions that were still being used for agricultural purposes.

A series of structures, starting with a gathering place, would provide a humble, far removed destination for travelers looking for a place from which to experience the beauty of this area. A series of tiny cabins placed in proximity to the main gathering structure, each reacting to different conditions within the landscape, would house parts of a large group, or individuals looking for a retreat.
